Baosteel and Ansteel edged into the 2009 Asia Brand Top 500 list composed of 32 industries from 18 Asian countries, ranking 84th and 94th respectively. Also included in the list related to metallurgical enterprises were India's Sterlite Industries (64th), South Korea's Posco (70th), China's Shagang, Japan's Nippon Steel, Steel Authority of India, Japan's Kobe Steel and South Korea's Hyundai Steel. Companies were nominated and evaluated in terms of competitiveness, market share, client satisfaction, etc.
